Chicago Area Geographic Information Study (CAGIS)
A local organization, proficient in meeting local information needs for small area
data, CAGIS is a reliable and economical source of information and data processing
services for the greater Chicagoland area and all of Illinois.
Chicagoland Environmental Network
An environmental resource helping people find out about environmental issues,
volunteer opportunities, organizations, and resources in northeastern Illinois, including
over 250 participating organizations and agencies involved in habitat restoration,
wetlands, prairies, watershed projects, urban gardening, revitalization programs, energy
conservation, composting, wildlife conservation, recycling, and more.
EcoIndiana
An attempt to bring together information about Indiana's natural environment, the
threats it faces, and the people and organizations fighting to protect it.
Gary-Chicago-Milwaukee Transportation
Information Center This home page is provided as an effort of the
Gary-Chicago-Milwaukee (GCM) priority corridor, Illinois Department of Transportation,
Indiana Department of Transporation, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, in
cooperation with the University of Illinois at Chicago Department of Electrical
Engineering and Computer Science. The efforts displayed here are the result of work
on the GCM Corridor Transportation Information Center.
Hoosier Environmental Council
In 1983, the HEC was established by environmental leaders to preserve and protect
that state's water, land, air, plants and animals.
Metropolitan Planning Council
Founded in 1934, the MPL is a nonprofit, non-partisan group of business and civic
leaders commited to serving the public interest through the promotion and implementation
of sensible planning and development policies necessary for a world-class Chicago region.
MPL conducts policy analysis, outreach and advocacy in partnership with public
officials and community leaders to improve equity of opportunity and quality of life
throughout metropolitan Chicago.
Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission
NIPC is the official comprehensive planning agency for the six county Chicago
metropolitan area, aiming to promote sound and orderly development in a sustainable and
equitable region.
Northwest Indiana Regional Planning Commission
NIRPC provides a forum that enables the citizens of northwest Indiana to address
regional issues relating to transportation, the environment and community and economic
development. In addition, NIRPC is designated the MPO for northwest Indiana, and as
such is responsible for coordinating the urban transportation planning process for the
region.
Partners for Clean Air
This Chicago area coalition is commited to improving air quality through voluntary
actions on ozone action days.
Regional Planning Board
The Regional Planning Board was created by the Illinois General Assembly to combine the
previously separate transportation and land-use planning agencies for northeastern Illinois
into a single entity designed to protect natural resources and minimize traffic congestion as
the seven-county region plans for the 21st Century and beyond.
World Business Chicago
A nonprofit, non-governmental business organization representing the 9 county
Chicago region. Its mission is to assist international companies in locating or
expanding in the region, and to advance the region as a global center.
